The 2019 Côtes Du Rhône will be a no-brainer purchase. This Syrah-heavy red has lots of blackberry, bouquet garni, and peppery notes in a ripe, full-bodied, textured style. It’s well worth buying and drinking over the coming 5-7 years.
We are pleased to offer one of our best buys in Bordeaux in quite some time. Chateau Marquis d'Aleseme is a third growth property located right next door to Malescot and Chateau Margaux (some fine real estate indeed!). A long-forgotten classed growth, this is a Chateau on the rise and it remains a bargain play (for now). That will not last! We opened a bottle here in the shop for customers to try Saturday and it was very well received. We recommend a bit of cellar time if you can but if not it shows very well after about 4 hours of air
This is now entirely made in house at the domain (rather than, as is commonly done, at a facility specializing in sparkling wine production). Minimum ageing on the lees is two and a half years, and the wine is subsequently disgorged upon order. Dosage is in the range of 6 grams per liter. Production averages 750 cases of 6-packs.
