McQueen and the Violet Fog is handcrafted in the hills of Jundiaí, Brazil, part of the Sovereign Brands portfolio, and built around a base of classic Brazilian sugarcane spirit rather than the grain neutral spirit typical of most gins. Production takes place in a single copper pot still, in small batches of just 500 liters at a time, giving the brand a boutique, closely controlled character despite its growing international reputation, including recognition from outlets like GQ as one of the standout gins on the market.

The gin is distilled with 21 botanicals sourced from around the world, six of which are considered signature inclusions rarely used elsewhere in gin production, among them basil, rosemary, fennel seed, calamansi, star anise, and açai, alongside more familiar elements like lemongrass, pomelo peel, orris root, and jasmine flower. Two separate techniques, maceration and vapor infusion, are used in tandem to draw out and layer these flavors before final blending.
