The age of reason. According to the freshness and the balance of Armagnacs of this age, it is sometimes time, at the end of 50 years to stop the barrel ageing. However, the use of barrels that have been exhausted of their tannins over many years in contact with the eau de vie is still possible. The aromas of chocolate, leather and roasted notes are characteristic of these very old eaux de vie.

 'This estate is located in the heart of the 'Grand Bas Armagnac', where the best Bas Armagnacs are to be found.  It's a Darroze exclusive, insofar as the entire production is distilled under our supervision, then aged in our cellars and proposed to our clients much later.'

This Darroze bottling is devastatingly good, what old traditional Armagnac was meant to taste like. Unabashedly manly and earthy, with floral notes like a boutonniere on a lapel and aromas of swirling cigar smoke. In the mouth, it's surprisingly fresh and fruity, balanced by dark coffee and fresh tobacco. Serious rancio on the midpalate, that continues on and on and on. Seamless and classic. 

100% Baco. Exceptional. 

Light chestnut colour with golden tints. The nose is still very expressive, almost pungent. Oaky and fruity flavours prevail. On the palate, the tannins are of exceptional quality and confer great finesse on this armagnac from a superb terroir. 

40% Baco/20% Ugni Blanc/20% Folle Blanche/20% Colombard. Rich and well-balanced.

60% Baco/40% Ugni Blanc. Rich and well-balanced.
