The 2023 Juel displays a sense of movement through the entire spectrum of the vineyard. The higher, ethereal tones from the edges of our vineyard are displayed in delicate notes of soft violets, and zesty blood orange dance across the palate. Meanwhile, from the heart of the vineyard, deeper, sultry flavors of plump, juicy plums, vibrant raspberries, and the earthy whispers of the forest floor unfold like a well-kept secret.

In the distance, a coyote laments…the fruit for Juel is hand-harvested in the dead of night to ensure they arrive at the winery fresh, vibrant, and alive. After a three to four-day cold soak, spontaneous fermentation begins with native yeasts brought in with the fruit from the vineyard. The voice of the vineyard is further coaxed to life in the cellar by daily hand punch downs bringing the voice of this fruit into song. The wine is then gently pressed and barreled down into French oak barrels (30% new) for ten months before blending and bottling.
