2023 Domaine de l'Aumonier - Touraine Sauvignon Blanc (750ml)
This comes from vines averaging 20 years old growing in the communes of Couffy, Seigy and Chateauvieux just south of the Cher River, a major tributary of the Loire. The Loire Valley is an open window to the Atlantic, blessing the region with clement weather. L’Aumonier’s soils range from tufa hillsides rich in clay and limestone to flatter sites of flint and clay, sand and clay, and silt and clay. Ferments are typically spontaneous (the occasional difficult tank may get a dose of neutral yeast) and the wine is raised in tank. There's no fining during élevage and only a light filtration at bottling. Production averages 8,500 cases.
Note that during warmer harvests, they do their harvesting at night to retain as much freshness in the grapes as possible. Certified organic and biodynamic

2019 Domaine de Montille - Vosne Romanee Malconsorts Christiane
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts has turned out brilliantly. Mingling aromas of blackberries and cassis with hints of orange rind, rose petals, licorice, sweet spices and loamy soil, it's full-bodied, ample and multidimensional, with a deep ...
2022 Domaine de Montille - Beaune Greves
This is aromatically more complex but also more reserved with its nose of warm earth, poached plum, violet and softly sauvage nuances. There is good power and punch, if only average density, to the muscular and lightly stony medium weight flavors that dis...
2022 Domaine de Montille - Chassagne Montrachet
A subtle dollop of wood is present on the equally ripe aromas of resin, petrol, baked apple and soil tones. The super-sleek and more intense medium weight flavors are not especially concentrated though they do offer fine persistence on the clean, dry and ...
2022 Domaine de Montille - Pommard Pezerolles
Enough wood to notice is present on the attractively spicy nose featuring notes of red cherry, raspberry, plum, violet and a suggestion of soft earth. The succulent but super-sleek and well-detailed medium weight flavors exude a bracing minerality on the ...
2022 Domaine de Montille - Volnay Tallepieds
Discreet wood can be found on the equally floral-suffused aromas of ripe yet cool red berries, kirsch and rose petal. The wonderfully sleek, detailed and overtly mineral-driven medium weight flavors are akin to rolling a small pebble around in the mouth o...

2022 Domaine de Mourchon - Gigondas (750ml)
Mourchon's very talented winemaker, Sébastien, is a Gigondas native and knows everyone in the village. A few years ago, I mentioned to him that I wished Mourchon made a Gigondas, and he told me he'd be happy to craft one for us using a secret source from one of his vigneron friends. I thought he was joking—until a sample arrived. Fantastic stuff! And he still won't tell me where he sources it from... It's obviously someone very good.
